WORLD AIDS DAY

World AIDS Day - December 1st

The Portsmouth City Health Department will provide FREE HIV testing and education for World AIDS Day at the Ross County Job and Family Services Service Center located at 475 Western Avenue in Chillicothe, Ohio from 12 to 4 p.m.   World AIDS Day (Wednesday, December 1st) serves as a reminder of the individuals that are affected or effected by the impact of HIV/AIDS in the United States and globally. 

Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or AIDS is the diagnosis given to an individual who has HIV then, as the immune system becomes weaker, develops opportunistic diseases and 250 or below t-cell levels.

Every 9 1/2 minutes someone in the United States becomes infected with HIV.  Imagine...every 9 1/2 minutes...
